Building Project Progress -Winter has turned to spring and the Westminster Building Project is showing signs of growth. Work continues on the new entrance with the application of brick in progress. New windows are being installed and that project is almost complete.

Remember that the Session invites the congregation to prayer to support this work especially on Fridays 9:30-11:00 AM. The Prayer Shawl group meets then and will include the building project specifically in their prayers at that time. Let us add our kindred prayers to theirs.

While the front entrance is closed for construction, the two side entrances are used for entry into the sanctuary and the remainder of the building.

Vacation Bible School Planning - The theme for this year is "High Seas Expedition" and this summer's vacation bible school will take place at All Saints July 19-23. The program needs volunteers so please contact Linda McCorckle for more information. Meetings are scheduled for volunteers May 16th from 12:30 - 2:30 and June 6th from 12:30 - 2:30 in the Parish Hall at All Saints.

ISOP Planning - Epworth and Westminster have begun planning for this years International Student outreach. Epworth will host the first dinner June 1st and as in the past, Westminster will host every other Tuesday beginning June 8th. This program has received tremendous support from our congregation and we are anticipating another successful year. If anyone is interested in serving as a coordinator, please contact either Betty Pratt or Brenda Sims for more details.

Prayer Shawls Delivered to Chaplain Sorensen at Dover Air Force Base - Sea Side Knitters, Peggy Tappan, Jane Nicholson and Elsie Marshall traveled to Dover on Ash Wednesday, February 17th, to deliver prayer shawls. The three shawls were beautifully made by Sarah Ortolani, Missy Norton and Pat Mossel. The group known as Prayer Shawls 4 Fallen Soldiers has been offering prayer shawls to next of kin family members of Army soldiers upon the dignified transfer at Dover Air Force Base. The program was started by Cozette Haggerty of Wilbraham, Massachusetts as a way of doing something meaningful for the families of the fallen soldier. It may be a small token but prayer shawls are given to express comfort and caring during a time of grief. The following statement comes from Cozette. "It goes without saying, this is a solemn deed. When I received the Army's list, I was enormously affected. Though we are all aware of the number of fallen, I found the black and white evidence of it quite overwhelming. It is my hope this project, with each lovingly knitted stitch, will show our families who have sacrificed so much (that) there are Americans who deeply care about them. May they forever be enfolded in love and warm memories with our work! God Bless and Thank You!"

Sea Side Knitters meet every Friday at 9:30 am in the church library. We knit, crochet, pray for our concerns list and enjoy being together. Please join us!

The Penny Harvest Collection Raised $575!! This year's collection will assist children in the state of Delaware who have sustained serious burn injuries, at the Delware Burn Camp, Inc. The presentation was made by Cheryl Littlefield during the Time with Children in our April 18th worship service.

The Children Hit Another Home Run Raising Funds to Help Others-- Our traditional SOUPER BOWL Collection will benefit Rev. Dale Dunning of Jusst Sooups ministry. In addition, the Sunday School children will collect toiletry donations during the month of May. They will then present the check and toiletry kits to Rev. Dunning in a special ceremony. Lets get behind our children and young people to help them complete their mission for Jusst Sooups.

Church Brochures Available - The Stewardship Committee, along with the help of Betty Carnahan and Sally Cordrey, has created a lovely brochure that briefly describes Westminster Presbyterian Church, its philosophy of ministry and its programs. They are in the wall rack in the Narthex, on the same wall as the church office. Please feel free to share these, along with an invitation to church, with your new neighbors and/or friends and acquaintances who may be looking for a church home.
